Prime Minister Mishustin signed a corresponding decree
The Serpukhov urban district received the status of a science city. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Wednesday, June 19.
The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
«Assign the status of a science city of the Russian Federation to the city district of Serpukhov, Moscow region», – says the resolution.
As MK previously reported, this resolution was preceded by the unification of the urban districts of Protvino, Pushchino and Serpukhov into a single urban district.
Since After signing a new resolution, the science cities of Pushchino and Protvino lost their status as science cities. It is assumed that all their scientific potential will be included in the general potential of the unified science city of Serpukhov.
As MK commented Chairman of the Union for the Development of Science Cities of Russia Mikhail Kuznetsov, the Union, as well as the trade union “Russian Coordination Committee “Science”” from the very beginning they opposed the draft of this resolution, at the stage when it was put up for discussion on the portal regulation.gov.ru. In particular, scientists argued against depriving the science cities of Pushchino and Protvino of their status.
