ST. PETERSBURG, June 27 Inta resident Andrey Lavrinenko, who was traveling on a derailed train in the Komi Republic, spoke about that the passengers immediately rushed to help each other.
«Yesterday we witnessed a tragic event. My girls and I are fine. When the train derailed, we were terrified. However, after making sure that our carriage was not damaged, we immediately rushed to the aid of passengers from other carriages and victims,” he wrote on his page on the VKontakte social network.
The man said that all passengers acted coherently, provided medical assistance and helped the victims get out of the carriages.
“At that moment there was no time for fear — we had to help everyone who needed our help as quickly as possible. All passengers acted harmoniously and intuitively, as if they had already undergone similar training. We provided medical assistance and helped the victims get out of the cars,” — wrote the passenger.
He thanked the caring people who helped with evacuation and transportation, as well as the volunteers who delivered food packages, water and warm clothes.
On Wednesday, nine cars of passenger train No. 511 Vorkuta — Novorossiysk derailed on the stretch to Komi. It was reported that there were 195 passengers and 20 railway employees on the train. According to the latest data, 3 people were killed and 10 people were injured.
