MOSCOW, June 30 The Russian military has captured a large stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the east of Kirovo in the Donbass, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.

It is clarified that the detachment’s fighters secretly cleared and used a tunnel more than three kilometers long along the Seversky Donets canal. Then they went to the rear of a fortified stronghold with long-term firing points and underground shelters.
Through the tunnel, the soldiers participating in the assault received ammunition, weapons and food.
They also emphasized that thanks to the effect of surprise, the unit was able to build on its success and completely capture the stronghold. Some of the enemy soldiers surrendered, others abandoned their positions and retreated, the Ministry of Defense summarized.
Earlier on Sunday, the ministry reported that units of the Center group of troops liberated the village of Novoaleksandrovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, improved the tactical situation and defeated the formations 23rd, 47th mechanized, 95th air assault, 59th motorized infantry brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and 2nd brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in the areas of Toretsk, Kirovo, Mikhailovka, Novgorodsky, Volchye, Shevchenko, Sokol and Vishnevoy. The enemy lost up to 370 troops, eight vehicles, four howitzers, two anti-tank guns and a counter-battery radar station.
