MOSCOW, July 1The Nika Award in the category “Best Screenplay” went to Andrei Smirnov’s film “For You and Me,” the leading awards announced.
“»I think that I am saying goodbye to this hall, to this academy. Maybe I will still be able to finish the script and even shoot a picture, but I think that this is still one of my last moments here, for which “I am very grateful to fate,” said Smirnov, receiving the award.
Among the nominees were Alexander Veledinsky for work on the film «1993», Gennady Ostrovsky, who worked on «The Righteous», Sergei Ilyin and Igor Rybin — the authors of the project «Matthew Passion».
National Cinematography Award «Nika» was established in 1987 by the secretariat of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR. The winners are determined by secret ballot of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and receive a prize-figurine of the winged ancient Greek goddess Nike.
