FSB arrested a Primorsky resident for transferring railway data to Ukrainian intelligence
The Russian FSB Directorate for the Primorsky Territory reported that A Russian citizen suspected of treason was arrested. He is accused of transferring data regarding vulnerabilities on the railway infrastructure to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR).
According to the regional press service of the FSB, the accused provided consulting assistance to the GUR of Ukraine, disclosing information about vulnerabilities and methods disabling railway transport facilities. This information could be used to carry out acts of sabotage, which poses a serious threat to national security.
The investigative department of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Primorsky Territory opened a criminal case under the article “High Treason.” If found guilty, the defendant faces up to 20 years in prison. He is currently in custody.
There will be an investigation and trial ahead, which should finally clarify all the circumstances of the case and deliver a fair verdict.
