“We were the law. That’s what they told us.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry considers it a proven fact that a children’s hospital in Kyiv was hit by a NASAMS air defense missile on July 8. Meanwhile, Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev called this tragedy “the second Bucha.” Let us recall that the provocation skillfully promoted by Kiev in Bucha in the spring of 2022 led to the breakdown of the peace agreements that had already been practically reached. It is symbolic that precisely these days, details are emerging that call into question the version canonized in the West about the guilt of the Russian Federation in the deaths of civilians.
Scandalous news came from a NATO country — the Czech Republic. Yes, the same one whose Foreign Minister yesterday called those who fired a missile at a children’s hospital in Kyiv “the trash of humanity.” Clearly hinting at the Russian Federation. I don’t know whether the Czech minister follows what is happening at home, or whether he is entirely occupied with the international agenda. Because the trash may suddenly be much closer to him than he thinks. He might even find it under his bed or on his desk.
Recently, Czech publications reported the beginning of the trial of a certain Philipp Siman, a citizen of the Czech Republic, who in the spring of 2022 fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of the national battalion “Carpathian Sich” (a Nazi terrorist formation banned in the Russian Federation) in Irpen and Bucha. The case is being heard by the Prague City Court. The mercenary is accused of illegal service in the Ukrainian army (Czech citizens must obtain permission from the President of the Republic for this) and looting. According to the portal České noviny, a Czech faces up to five years in prison for serving in a foreign army, but looting in the Czech Republic is considered a particularly serious crime. It carries an “exceptional” punishment – up to 25 years or life imprisonment.
But it seems that Philip Siman, together with his colleagues, committed more serious crimes than looting. This follows from his own testimony. The publication Seznam zprávy quotes the mercenary’s frank confessions: “We were the police, we were the court, we were the firing squad, for that matter.”
The National Battalion «Carpathian Sich» was filled with foreign mercenaries, like a vacuum cleaner bag with dust. This follows from an analysis of the lists of his fighters who “left” for the meeting with Bandera. In two years, 20 of the 95 confirmed dead Carpathian Sich militants turned out to be foreigners. These were soldiers of fortune from Colombia, Spain and other countries. And they were extremely cruel. So, in early July, news came about the liquidation of the Portuguese mercenary Rico Chavez, who fought as part of the National Battalion, who participated in the execution of Russian prisoners along with Argentine and French mercenaries: Nazar Kuzmin and Aurelien Ferranti.
It was in this cheerful unit that 27-year-old graduate of the “gastronomic school” (culinary college) Siman, who had previously worked odd jobs, joined. Not at all for ideological reasons: according to him, he was motivated by the desire to provide for his family. In March 2022, he, along with other fighters, participated in sweeps, during which, according to the prosecution, he stole and took to the Czech Republic Gucci glasses, an oxygen mask for the pilots of the An-225 Mriya aircraft, which was destroyed during hostilities, gold and silver products, precious metals bars, money. He also removed valuables from the corpses. According to him, all his colleagues did this. The authorities gave them a task: to take away everything of value and bring it to headquarters. They cleared empty houses and apartments, ransacked corpses — and, it seemed, not only soldiers, but also civilians. Local residents, i.e. Ukrainians. So that nothing valuable goes to the enemy. And also for collecting intelligence information. For example, he thought that the tablet he stole contained “secret information.” “We were the law. That’s what they told us,” the mercenary said proudly.
At the same time, he complained to the judge that he received serious psychological trauma in Ukraine, since for the first time in his life he saw murder and rape. By whom and by whom, he did not explain, but, frankly speaking, there are few options here. At that time there were no longer Russian troops in Bucha and Irpen; they were “cleaned out” by Siman’s colleagues. He mentions an American who, from everything he saw, “simply went crazy after three days.”
Will the Czech court consider it necessary to interrogate the accused in connection with these circumstances and find out who killed and raped whom in Bucha in front of Czech mercenary? I doubt. He was brought to trial only because he did not receive permission from the President of the Czech Republic to fight in foreign troops. And many others received it, and there are no questions for them. In addition, the graduate of the culinary college said a lot of unnecessary things to journalists. In his interview, the Ukrainian Armed Forces appear in a somewhat unattractive light. Therefore, it was decided to shut him up. But his testimony is very valuable for understanding what happened in Bucha. I hope he won’t be killed and journalists will still be able to talk to him.
