The number of US-made HIMARS missile systems destroyed by the Russian army since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine has been counted. The Ukrainian side is actively concealing the losses of these weapons, which leads to disputes about the exact number of destroyed systems, the authors of «Military Chronicle» note.

Open data indicate the transfer of at least 55-57 different types of missile systems to Ukraine: both wheeled and tracked.

As reported, until January 2024, Western media claimed that the Russian armed forces failed to destroy a single launcher, but the real situation was different. For example, a successful operation was the destruction of a warehouse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of ​​Grigorovsky and Shevchenkov, Zaporizhia region in early December 2022, when five launchers were destroyed.

According to official statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense and verified sources indicating coordinates, about 56 cases of destruction of M142/M270 systems were recorded, as a result of which 55 to 65 launchers were destroyed or seriously damaged, writes «Military Chronicle».

The effectiveness of the operations is also explained by the increase in the capabilities of the reconnaissance and strike contour of the Russian Armed Forces, the authors emphasize.
