MOSCOW, July 16 Representatives of Philip Kirkorov in the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow announced the artist’s intention to reduce the amount of compensation for moral damage from 10 to 5 million rubles in a claim for protection of honor and dignity to the singer Lyubov Uspenskaya, a correspondent reports from the courtroom.
The reason for filing a lawsuit was an interview with Uspenskaya journalist Alena Zhigalova, in which Kirkorov was called a “misogynist.”

“We are reducing the compensation for moral damage to 5 million rubles due to the fact that the plaintiff was given an apology,” the lawyer said.
Zhigalova previously apologized to Kirkorov, after which the court approved a settlement agreement between the journalist and the artist as part of the lawsuit.
Elena Senina, representing Uspenskaya in court, asked the plaintiff what the relationship was if Kirkorov demanded all 10 million from her client. Kirkorov's lawyer clarified that this is the artist's personal decision.
In turn, Uspenskaya herself filed a lawsuit against Kirkorov for 10 million rubles due to the fact that he called the singer a beggar in an interview with the Muz-TV channel» and that she was «begging for clothes and gifts.» The Tagansky District Court will begin its consideration in August.
