New details of the high-profile kidnapping of a baby from the Kremenchug maternity hospital in the Poltava region of Ukraine have become known. According to law enforcement officials, the child was kidnapped directly from the maternity hospital by a local 25-year-old resident who is transsexual. He allegedly dreamed of his own child for a long time. TSN.ua writes about this.

Law enforcement officers said that the suspect is single, has not previously been prosecuted, lives in one of the villages.

The security forces, after they were able to find the attacker and return the child to the mother, they find out not only the circumstances of the abduction of the girl by the man, but also how he managed to commit such a daring crime extremely quickly — within 5-10 minutes, freely getting into the room where the newborns were.

“It is becoming clear whether this man disguised himself as a doctor or came in under the guise of a visitor,” law enforcement officers note.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the kidnapper carried the baby out of the maternity hospital in an ordinary bag, calmly called a taxi and went home.

The woman whose baby was kidnapped told reporters that in addition to the newborn, she is raising four more children.

The child abductor was placed in isolation. The court will probably choose a preventive measure for him tomorrow. If his guilt is proven in court, he faces 5 to 10 years.
