MOSCOW, July 19 The case of an attack by migrants on State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev in Samara will be investigated under the article of assassination attempt for murder, the press service of the Investigative Committee reported.
«Taking into account the circumstances of the incident and the public outcry, the chairman of the Investigative Committee ordered <…> to reclassify the actions of the attackers as attempted murder,» the department said.
Three suspects, one of whom is a minor, were identified and detained; the investigation will ask the court for their arrest.
The day before, Matveev posted several videos on his Telegram channel that recorded the conflict in Samara. presumably between migrants and local residents.
The deputy stated that he tried to break up the fight, but one of the migrants hit him in the head. As a result, Matveev received a cut. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case of hooliganism.
