Migrants beat a man to death for cheating on renting out an apartment

The murder was solved five years later

A deception involving renting an apartment became the reason for the brutal murder of a man in the north-west of Moscow in 2019. Investigators from the capital's Investigative Committee managed to solve the crime.

As MK learned, in March 2019, a man of retirement age was beaten to death on Marshal Katukov Street. His identity could not be established. The suspects turned out to be three citizens of one of the Central Asian countries, but soon after the massacre they were transferred to their homeland, so they could not be detained immediately. Recently, the Asians returned to Russia, and during the investigation, one of them was detained. A citizen of Uzbekistan explained that an elderly man, whom they met by chance, offered to rent them an apartment for 25 thousand rubles a month. He asked for an advance payment, and the foreigners gave him the money. However, when a “well-wisher” took them to the house where the apartment was located, it turned out that he could not get into the entrance because he did not know the intercom number. Angry with the man, the migrants beat him to death.

According to Vladislav Shilnov, investigator of the Khoroshevsky Investigation Department of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, the investigation intends to petition the court to select a preventive measure in the form of detention against the defendant. The search for accomplices continues.
