In the center of Kyiv, unknown persons demolished the Zelensky Estate

The National Police of Ukraine reported that it had opened proceedings regarding the illegal demolition of the historical Zelensky Estate in the center of Kyiv.

The Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City Administration asked the police to intervene in the situation. They noted that at the address st. Konissky, 22, they demolished the Zelensky Estate, built in 1890, without authorization.

Two days ago, the Kyiv mayor’s office accepted a package of documents from public activists assigning this building the status of a monument. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko also supported this.

Currently, police are at the site of the demolition of the building and have seized the equipment. However, so far the Ukrainian authorities have not named the legal entity that sent the equipment to demolish the historical building.
