The vehicle complex will improve remote communication with the landing ship

The Center for Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities (TSENKI) received a vehicle complex for prompt and high-quality communication with descending manned spacecraft. The special transport was created by specialists from the Yaroslavl Radio Plant and Russian Space Systems JSC. (RKS) based on the KamAZ chassis.

A prototype of the complex has already arrived at Baikonur.

As reported by MK in the RKS, the new special transport is included in the set of tools designed for receiving, listening and recording voice conversations between cosmonauts and the search and rescue group, as well as video recording of the descent and landing of the return vehicle.

The car complex is equipped with modern domestic radio equipment. Compared to the previous set of tools, it is created from domestic components, is more mobile, and has a better set of qualities for ensuring remote communication with members of the space crew.

Also, the equipment complex allows storing and broadcasting conversations between the crew of the descent spacecraft and search and rescue team.

The van body has telecommunication cabinets for installing additional equipment, and also has two full-fledged workplaces for personnel.

As “MK” commented Deputy General Director for Technical and Author's Supervision of JSC TsENKI «Russian Cosmodromes» Alexander Fadeev, today this auto complex – the most modern means of communication, radio and video monitoring of the entire process of landing manned spacecraft returning to Earth. The start of autonomous testing of this special vehicle at Baikonur is scheduled for December this year, and after the New Year – full commissioning.
