Tesla has decided to launch mass production of humanoid robots in 2026
Elon Musk said that his company Tesla plans to begin mass production of humanoid robots in 2026.
According to the businessman, in 2025 the company will release a batch of such robots, which he described as “useful,” but “there will be few of them for internal use.” A year later, it is planned to begin mass production.
The founder of Tesla came up with a similar idea back in 2021, the project was called Optimus. Such robots operate on the basis of Tesla autopilot and self-learning artificial intelligence. At the end of 2023, the company introduced a new generation of Optimus Gen 2, which is distinguished by precision in working with fragile objects. Musk estimated the cost of such robots at $10–20 thousand.
As Kommersant writes. in early 2024, Mercedes-Benz acquired the Apollo line of robots, which were used for tasks requiring physical strength.
