The qualifications of programmers and the quality of software in the world are falling, an expert says
“Currently everyone is so passionate about digitalization that they don’t think about its reliability,” says an information technology specialist, Member of the Human Rights Council Igor Ashmanov. Therefore, failures like the one that occurred on Friday will only multiply over time. The reason is the low level of training of specialists.

Igor Ashmanov said that network and software failures occur with enviable regularity. There is even a special program that tracks operating time without failures. They happen because the system is constantly becoming more complex, and the qualifications of programmers are falling. Now they no longer need to know the codes; they just need to compose a program from ready-made blocks, without understanding what will happen inside it. Because of this, the reliability of the software decreases. “The complexity in the digital part is growing, and the qualifications of programmers are falling.”
Therefore, according to the expert, the only solution is to choose reliable and simple software. “But no one will do this now. Because digitalization is convenient and innovative, and no one will stop it. And failures will occur more and more often, and they will become more global.” Therefore, you need to be prepared for reports of new global network failures.
