MOSCOW, July 17 Archaeologists have discovered unique objects of the 19th century in the Tagansky district of Moscow, according to the website of the mayor and government of the capital.
«The artifacts were found in the Tagansky district, now they are being prepared for transfer to the museum fund. During archaeological work in the area of 4th Krutitsky Lane, experts found a saucer with the mark of Meissen porcelain and a lid from a lipstick jar of Dr. Schweikert. These are valuable specimens goods of the 19th century, which were popular among wealthy citizens of that time,” the website says.
A saucer with a Meissen porcelain mark in the form of two crossed blue swords from the coat of arms of Saxony is an example of utensils that served as decoration for sets of noble houses. The second find, a porcelain lid of a lipstick jar, was once sold in the most famous Moscow pharmacy of the 19th century — Ferrein's pharmacy on Nikolskaya Street, the message specified.
