Bastrykin announced the completion of investigative actions in the case of General Popov

Chairman of the RF Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta that investigative actions are currently underway against the ex-commander of the 58th Army, General Ivan Popov, and businessman Sergei Moiseev completed.

Recall that the investigation suspects Popov of involvement in the theft of 1,700 tons of metal products purchased for the construction of defensive structures in the Zaporozhye region. The Investigative Committee previously reported that the damage in the case is estimated at over 100 million rubles.

Last week, the court changed Popov’s preventive measure and transferred him from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest.
