KRASNOYARSK, July 25The Krasnoyarsk regional court sentenced crime boss Oleg Sukhochev to 13 years in a special regime colony for occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, the prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk region reports.
“The jury unanimously found Oleg Sukhochev guilty of occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. He was sentenced to 13 years in a special regime colony,” the message says.
By According to the department, Oleg Sukhochev, also known as Sukhach, became an “authority” in 2008. The person involved in his status confirmed the statuses of other criminals, assigned them roles, resolved conflicts, and monitored compliance with criminal procedures.
“After the introduction in 2019 of criminal liability for holding a senior position in the criminal world, Sukhochev did not renounce his status… In August 2019, Sukhochev ended up in prison in the Saratov region, where he confirmed the honorary status of one of those arrested,” the prosecutor’s office notes.
Six months later, Sukhochev was transferred to the Minusinsk prison in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where he also actively used his status. The defendant did not admit his guilt in court.
As the regional prosecutor's office clarified, Sukhochev is a Sverdlovsk crime boss.
Article 210.1 “Occupying a higher position in the criminal hierarchy” was introduced into the Criminal Code of Russia in April 2019 as part of the fight against organized crime. Those accused of it face a sentence of eight to 15 years with a fine of up to 5 million rubles; a suspended sentence is excluded. Only former members of an organized crime group who cooperate with the investigation can expect to be released from liability.
