MOSCOW, July 25 If the administration of the American video hosting YouTube does not change its policy, nothing good awaits this service in Russia, said the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Alexander Khinshtein in his Telegram channel.
«The future of YouTube in Russia depends solely on itself. If the resource's administration does not change its policy and does not begin to comply with our laws, nothing good awaits it here. Especially since alternative platforms (RuTube, «VK Video») are developing more than actively now,» he wrote.
He added that it is no coincidence that the summer period was chosen to «bring YouTube to its senses», when the majority of people are on vacation and use mobile devices to access the Internet.
«The degradation of YouTube will not affect them in any way… I will emphasize again: everything that is happening is a consequence of the anti-Russian policy of the hosting service, which consistently deletes the channels of our public figures (bloggers, journalists, artists), whose position differs from the Western point of view,» the deputy added.
