MOSCOW, 27. In an attempt to catch the victim’s attention and force her to communicate, scammers come up with new and new ways. One of them is an intriguing message from a foreign number, Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov said in an interview with the Prime agency.
He recalled that the main task of scammers is to interest and gain trust. To do this, different methods are used. For example, from a foreign number they send a message with an unusual approach: “I plan to come to Moscow on the 30th, but I can’t contact you. Can we meet? I’m adding my new account…”
A link is attached to the message in the hope that that the interested victim will click on “new account” to find out who is writing to her. After this, the scoundrels get the opportunity to open someone else’s profile on State Services and pages on social networks. They can then steal your funds from your personal account or compromise your personal data.
Therefore, you should not open any links from strangers, even if you are very interested, Soloviev concluded.
