In January, a detainee was beaten to death in the same department
New details have emerged about the death of 48-year-old SVO member Akhmed Dzhabrailov in the Makhachkala police department. Human rights activists are checking information that after his arrest, Dzhabrailov, who was in an insane state, was beaten in the police department of the Sovietsky district of the city.

As MK managed to find out, Dzhabrailov was detained after neighbors called the police. The reason was the inadequate behavior of the man, a Dargin by nationality, a resident of the village of Butri in the outskirts of Makhachkala. Perhaps, after returning from the SVO zone, he failed to socialize — Dzhabrailov abused alcohol and, possibly, took potent substances. That day, he began running on the roof of the house, after which the residents called the law enforcement agencies.
At the police station, Dzhabrailov became ill — his condition was captured on video cameras. For 12 minutes, various manipulations were carried out on the detainee (they turned him on his back, lifted him up, handcuffed him, and even shocked him with a stun gun) in the station building, after which he died. Curiously, at that very moment, members of the Public Monitoring Commission for Dagestan came to the station to check. They were told that a person had been detained and had died of an unknown cause. By that time, the body had already been taken away from the police station. Initially, it was assumed that Dzhabrailov had simply died from a sudden attack. However, videos then appeared on the Internet that refuted the «non-criminal» version of the detainee's death. The recordings were published by the chairman of the Dagestan PMC, Shamil Khadulaev.
It is characteristic that in January of this year, a detainee died in the same police station — he was knocked down, beaten, and fatally stabbed. A criminal case was opened on this fact, within the framework of which 13 people were detained (they are all in pretrial detention). Representatives of the POC note that these cases are similar in many ways. Human rights activists hope that the republican Investigative Committee will not let this case be put on the back burner. At least one participant in the conflict with Dzhabrailov at the police station has been identified, who pressed his knee on the detainee's back — this is a PPS officer. On the other hand, he had previously handed the man a bottle of water. Other officers also entered the department premises, their involvement in Dzhabrailov's death will be investigated.
