NOVOSIBIRSK, July 24 State support for projects in the field of science and education development, such as world-class student campuses and the SKIF mega-scientific project, will continue, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with young scientists in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
One of the meeting participants inquired about the fate of the financing and development of the world-class campus project of Novosibirsk State University and the scientific installation Siberian Ring Photon Source (SKIF) being built near Novosibirsk after the completion of the national project «Science and Universities» this year.
«Nothing will end. It's just different forms. There was a national project, now all activities in the field of science and education will be continued within the framework of the federal state program for scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation. We are actively preparing new national projects on the instructions of the president. We have not yet completed their design. We will report to the president in September,» Mishustin said.
The head of government noted that «strategic work» is currently underway on them, so as not to miss any of the areas of work.
«But I will say right away that within the framework of the national project to ensure technological leadership, all the main activities will be continued, including those under the national project on science and education. Each of these national projects will include activities related to conducting scientific research in the industries they affect, that is, in the development of domestic technologies, training the personnel needed by the economy,» the prime minister added.
On Wednesday, Mishustin visited the Akademgorodok Science and Technology Park in Novosibirsk, and also spoke with young scientists and teachers from Novosibirsk State University (NSU).
