MOSCOW, July 30Director of the Main Production and Commercial Directorate for Servicing the Diplomatic Corps at the Russian Foreign Ministry Vyacheslav Fatin and Director of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts Elena Titova signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the awarding of the winners of the All-Russian creative competition «Architecture of Diplomacy», a correspondent reports.
The winners of the competition were awarded at the Museum of Decorative Arts on Tuesday. According to Fatin, one of the goals of the competition is to show that Russian decorative applied arts once «had a heyday».
«
«Our organization manages a huge number of mansions that are architectural gems — 19th century, 20th century, many even earlier, of course, we would like to somehow popularize them, not only show them to art lovers or some narrowly focused specialists, namely, to somehow convey these beautiful buildings through youth, through creativity,» Fatin told journalists.
This year, the theme of the competition, which has been held for the third year in a row, was the slogan «Patterns and colors of national culture.» Participants from all over the country combined examples of classical architecture with recognizable elements of folk art and crafts. The competition was attended by both professional artists and students of specialized educational institutions, as well as amateurs.
