MOSCOW, August 2 The organizers of the athletics broadcast at the Olympic Games in Paris mistakenly put the Russian flag in the graphics.
Before the start of the hammer throw competition, graphics appeared indicating the world and Olympic records.
The world record (86.74 m) was set in 1986 by Yuri Sedykh, opposite whom the USSR flag was indicated in the graphics. The Olympic record (84.80 m) was set at the 1988 Games in Seoul also by Soviet athlete Sergei Litvinov, but the organizers mistakenly put the flag of the Russian Federation opposite his name.
The Olympic Games are being held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. There are 15 Russians competing in five sports: seven tennis players, three canoeists, three cyclists, one trampoline jumper and one swimmer. By decision of the IOC, they are competing in the capital of France as neutrals, without the Russian flag and anthem, and their awards will not be shown in the medal table.
