British company AC Cars has unveiled its second model since its 2022 relaunch: the Cobra GT Coupe is built on the same aluminum platform as the Cobra GT Roadster, which was launched last year, but in the top version it has a more powerful gasoline V8 with 810 hp.
AC Cars is considered the oldest surviving British car company — it was founded by the Weller brothers in 1901 and has changed hands many times since then. In the spring of 2022, AC Cars got a new CEO — Swiss investor and entrepreneur David Conz: under his leadership, the company said goodbye to the old model range and began developing the first completely new model in this century. Last year, the AC Cobra GT Roadster debuted and entered the market; it is only superficially similar to its historical ancestor from the 1960s; all technical components were developed from scratch.

Three engine options are announced for the coupe: a naturally aspirated V8 with a capacity of 456 hp and a supercharged V8 with a capacity of 730 or 810 hp. The working volume and origin of the engines have not yet been specified, the roadster is equipped with a 5.0-liter Ford V8 Coyote with a capacity of 460 hp in the naturally aspirated version and 663 hp in the supercharged one. The 810-horsepower V8 is supposed to be the top and debut version of the coupe called the Clubsport Edition — it will be released in a circulation of 99 copies, deliveries will begin at the end of 2025. This means that less powerful versions won't arrive until 2026.

Closer to the start of production, the company will publish more detailed technical specifications of the AC Cobra GT Coupe. The interior has also not yet been revealed, but it will probably largely repeat the interior of the roadster. Meanwhile, orders for the coupe are already being accepted, the minimum price is £ 325,000 plus taxes. The roadster costs from £ 285,000.
