MOSCOW, August 4 Russia needs to rapidly expand its railway infrastructure using advanced developments and create a reserve for decades to come, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his congratulations to workers and veterans of railway transport on their professional holiday.
In his congratulations, Putin noted that the Russian Federation now faces the task of further modernizing the Eastern Polygon, BAM, and Trans-Siberian Railway. Moreover, these highways should operate in conjunction with the Northern Sea Route and such promising projects as the Northern Latitudinal Passage with access to Arctic ports.
«In general, we need an accelerated expansion of Russia's railway infrastructure at a new technological level, using the most advanced developments. And here we must proceed not only from the needs of today, but also create a reserve for the future, for decades forward. This is exactly how our great ancestors thought and worked,» Putin emphasized.
