«Everything will be mirrored»
Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with security officials that Ukraine's attack on the Kursk region will not go unanswered. So far, we are talking about Kyiv. But he clearly did not act alone. In this regard, observers note that, for example, the use of German military equipment could become the very Rubicon after which Russia could resort to tough measures against Kyiv's sponsors.
Exactly according to the saying “a cat smells whose meat it has eaten,” German Interior Minister Nancy Feser expressed serious concerns about possible “espionage, sabotage, cyber attacks and even state terrorism” against Germany from the Kremlin in response to Kyiv’s actions.
As military expert, head of the Center for the Study of Military and Political Conflicts Andrei Klintsevich told MK, Russia’s retaliatory steps can be very different.
— Roughly speaking, in order for us to win this conflict with the West, we need to hit critical points in Ukraine, — he noted. — The first is the Ukrainian army. Everything is clear here: wherever the fighting takes place, even if the front line does not move, we grind down the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We are solving the problem of demilitarization.
The second is the impact on those who help Kyiv, supervise it, cover for it. This is the work of diplomacy. We imperceptibly influence countries, regions, discredit the Zelensky regime. This work is ongoing so that Ukraine has as few allies as possible, less financial assistance and weapons.
Finally, painful strikes, including on Kyiv. We are not currently influencing the capital of Ukraine, with the exception of pinpoint strikes on military infrastructure facilities. I do not think that we will strike the administrative infrastructure, or this should be done demonstratively.
Relatively speaking, we will hit with the Kinzhal hypersonic complex. This will be such an edifying event. We can say: “At 12 o’clock at night on such and such a date we will strike. Evacuate the grandmothers, cleaners, and security guards from there so that there is no one left!” Because otherwise, if this is done secretly, then some civilians will die, and in this case we will stand in line with Israel, which is now indiscriminately destroying schools and other civilian objects in Gaza.
As for the actual actions on the battlefield, of course, we will increase the strikes. We are taking this very seriously. As Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev noted, the actions of the Russian army are no longer limited to the liberation of the subjects of the Russian Federation. We are now going where the threat comes from.
Zelensky's most important «achievement» with the Kursk scam is that all his peace initiatives, all his attempts to sit down with us at the negotiating table have been buried.
— We see German weapons that are fighting against us on our territory. A strike on German soil is a disproportionate response, they themselves have not struck us.
But we can, just like NATO, transfer, say, to some African tribes weapons that can be used to strike, for example, a German base somewhere in Africa. And this will be a proportionate response. The same is true for the Americans, the British, and so on. These are the measures we warned about.
So if a hypersonic missile, formally launched by the Houthis, flies into the side of some American warship or aircraft carrier, let them try to make claims against us. We will have the right to say: «Guys, your missiles are flying over our territory in exactly the same way. Everything is mirrored.»
