MOSCOW, August 15 A Lithuanian citizen who was wanted internationally has been detained by police in the seaside town of Artem, the MVD Media website reports.
«In Primorye, employees of the Migration Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Artem, with the assistance of the Russian National Guard, detained a 50-year-old citizen of the Republic of Lithuania who was on the international wanted list,» the report says.
It is reported that from 2018 to 2024, the detainee committed violent sexual acts against his two underage daughters. In addition, he is also accused of causing moderate bodily harm. The man left Lithuania, wishing to avoid responsibility, and was put on the international wanted list by Lithuanian law enforcement agencies.
It is noted that employees of the Interpol National Central Bureau of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Primorsky Krai established that the wanted man lives in the Artemovsky urban district and immediately passed on this information to police officers from the territorial internal affairs agency. The detained Lithuanian citizen has been remanded in custody pending a decision on his extradition.
