MOSCOW, August 15 Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune congratulated boxer Iman Khelif, who failed a gender test, on her victory at the Olympic Games.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved the participation of Khelif and Lin Yuting (Taiwan) in the women's tournament at the Games in Paris, despite the fact that at the 2023 World Championships (held under the auspices of the IBA) they failed a gender test that showed elevated testosterone levels in their bodies. At the Olympics, Khelif and Lin Yuting won gold medals in the 66 and 57 kg weight categories, respectively.
