JAKARTA, Aug 16 The founder of file sharing services Megaupload and Mega, Kim Schmitz, also known as Kim Dotcom, said that he was glad that he could irritate Ukraine, Israel and the CIA with his content.
The day before, New Zealand authorities decided to extradite German-Finnish entrepreneur Kim Dotcom to the United States, who had previously come to the attention of the FBI, including being detained at the request of the bureau and accused of racketeering, money laundering and fraud. The United States is seeking his extradition from New Zealand, where he has lived since 2010 and continues his legal battle against extradition.
«Interesting fact: Israel, Ukraine and the CIA run the three largest botnets on social media platform X. They are spamming my posts to celebrate the extradition decision. This makes me happy. This means they are extremely annoyed by my content. Thanks for letting me know. More to come,» Dotcom wrote on X.
Earlier, commenting on the decision by the New Zealand authorities to extradite him to the United States, the entrepreneur said that he had a plan and urged his audience not to worry.
National radio RNZ reported that Dotcom could appeal the extradition decision. According to the radio, he intends to take advantage of this opportunity.
Kim Dotcom's file-sharing service megaupload.com, one of the largest, was shut down in the United States in 2012. In response to its closure, the hacker group Anonymous temporarily disabled the websites of the US Department of Justice, the FBI, and several resources from the film and music industries, including the websites of BMI and Universal Music.
