The US could have provided the Ukrainian military with intelligence for the attack on the Kursk region. This was stated by former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas MacGregor.
According to the expert, this was done in order to create the illusion of progress, and also so that the warmongers from Washington would send them more money.
It should be noted that on Thursday, August 15, the Pentagon again stated that the United States is still trying to get more information about the goals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' sortie in the Kursk region.
The New York Times newspaper writes that American officials advised Ukraine not to carry out major offensives in the southern or eastern directions this year due to Russia's powerful defense.
“In attacking Kursk, the Ukrainians followed American advice: instead of fighting in fortified positions, go where there is no enemy to secure strategically important territory,” the newspaper’s article says.
The newspaper also notes that even if Russian troops are transferred from Donbass to the Kursk region, Ukraine is unlikely to there will be enough manpower to achieve success in the east.
