MOSCOW, August 17 The Progress MS-28 cargo ship with the All Sky Monitor X-ray instrument and other payloads docked to the Zvezda service module of the ISS , broadcast by Roscosmos.
The ship delivered more than 2.6 tons of cargo to the station, including 1.2 tons of dry cargo for the station systems and the ISS crew. It brought into orbit equipment for the experiments «Aseptic», «Biodegradation», «Virtual», «Endurance», «Lazma», «Neuroimmunity», «Photobioreactor».
As the rocket and space corporation Energia wrote on its Telegram channel, «the most valuable cargo is for the experiment 'All-Sky Monitor'.»
«
«Well, almost everything: from the ISS orbit, the X-ray spectrometer will 'see' 84 percent of the celestial sphere,» the corporation clarified.
Progress also carried other scientific equipment for the Forced Exhalation and Endothelium experiments, which will study how long-term space flight affects lung function, as well as the influence of the Earth's geomagnetosphere on the development of cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, Progress is carrying 950 kilograms of fuel for refueling the station, 420 kilograms of drinking water, and 50 kilograms of nitrogen to replenish the ISS atmosphere.
Progress MS-28 began its flight at 6:20 Moscow time on August 15, when the Soyuz-2.1a rocket took off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. In nine minutes, it delivered the ship to near-Earth orbit, after which it began an independent flight to the ISS, which followed a standard two-day scheme. During this time, the cargo ship made 34 orbits around the Earth. The total duration of the Progress MS-28 orbital flight is expected to be 179 days.
