MOSCOW, August 16 Actress of the State Academic Maly Theater Ekaterina Vasilyeva died in an accident at the age of 37, the theater’s Telegram channel reported.

"The Maly Theater received sad news — «On August 15, as a result of an accident, the young actress Ekaterina Vasilyeva passed away,» the statement said.
The theater also expressed condolences to the artist's family and friends. «We express our condolences to Ekaterina's family, loved ones and friends. We deeply grieve with them,» the colleagues noted.
Ekaterina Vasilyeva was born on April 28, 1987 in Gomel, Belarus. In 2011, she graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theatre School. After graduating, she was accepted into the troupe of the Maly Theater. Her debut on the famous stage was the role of Mironikha in Olga Solomina's play «The Last Term.» On the stage of the Maly Theatre, Vasilyeva played 15 roles, including Sophia in «Woe from Wit», Marina in «The Power of Darkness», Sophia in «The Minor» and others.
