Transformers, a children's TV show, featured a non-binary character who described being neither male nor female as a «wonderful experience».
Transformer: Earthspark, a spin-off show based on popular Hasbro action figures, introduced a gender-neutral character in one of its latest episodes.
In an excerpt from this episode, a robot named Nightshade states that her pronouns are «they/them,” while the person they are talking to replies that she likes being referred to as “she/they.”
When a person says they feel safe around non-binary people , the robot asks what is non-binary means, and the human answers what means people who do not identify themselves as male or female.
Nightshade then says, «I always knew my pronouns sounded right, but what a great word for a great experience.»
The storyline was controversial in the US, where it was panned by many commentators.
Fox News host Laura Ingram discussed the clip on her show Ingram's Corner and accused Transformers: Spark of the Earth of shoving pronouns down the throats of seven-year-olds.
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly tweeted that the clip was «disgusting».

All 18 episodes of the Transformers: Spark of the Earth spin-off were made available online late last year, but the storyline has gained notoriety in recent days after the clip was posted online. Libs of Tik Tok Twitter feed, which has over two million followers.
Despite the hype, some parents have supported the storyline.

The controversy arose after the boycott of Bud Light in the US, including by celebrities such as Kid Rock, after the company sponsored influential transgender Dylan Mulvaney.< /p>
According to Bump Williams Consulting and NielsenIQ, published by the New York Post, Bud Light sales in the US fell 21.4% in April.
