Recently, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, in his interview with "Kommersant" reported that the classic SUV «Niva» will receive engines from the urban model Lada Vesta.
It is assumed that conventional cars will get 1.6-liter engines with 106 hp output. According to Sokolov, such a power unit will have to be “deployed differently” so that it will work as expected.
In addition, the Lada Niva Sport will appear on sale, which will also get an engine from Vesta. In this case, it is assumed that a 1.8-liter aspirated engine with 122 hp will appear under the hood of the model. According to Sokolov, new cars should be expected to be on sale no earlier than 2024.
