Leeds United are considering Steven Gerrard, Scott Parker or Carlos Corberan as their next manager.

Stephen Gerrard, Scott Parker and Carlos Corberan are among the managers being considered by Leeds United after it was confirmed that Sam Allardyce had left the club after being relegated from the Premier League.

The 68-year-old lost three matches and drew . one game, but made a huge impression on the Leeds hierarchy, along with his coaching staff, consisting of assistants Carl Robinson and Robbie Keane.

“At this stage in my career, I'm not sure I can take on this challenge, which is potentially a long-term project,” Allardyce said. «But I wish the club every success in the future and I hope the club returns to the Premier League where it belongs.»

In a statement confirming Allardyce's departure, Kinnear said: «Unfortunately, this did not happen . but Sam, Carl Robinson and Robbie Keane did their best to lighten the mood at Thorpe Arch (training ground) and Elland Road, for which we are all extremely grateful.”

Acquisition key to troubled club's short-term plans .

Leeds hope to appoint a new head coach in the next couple of weeks. Kinnear is overseeing the process, although it is complicated in the short term by whether there will be a change of ownership.

It is hoped that an announcement will be made after the weekend to clarify whether the 49ers, which own 44 percent, will proceed with immediate the buyout of the controlling interest held by the Chairman of the Board, Andrea Radrizzani.

If there is any delay as to what is happening, it will likely draw the ire of Leeds fans who are desperate for clarity and a reorganization of the club. Leeds are also currently without a director of football following the sacking of Victor Horta.

The Americans are still intent on buying Leeds at some stage, although there is a possibility that Radrizzani will want to stay for another year at team. I hope that the club will immediately return from the championship. Nevertheless, Radrizani completes the purchase of the Italian club Sampdoria.

Championship experience or a famous person?

Corberan is believed to be one of the candidates that Radrizzani admires. The Spaniard is currently head coach of Championship club West Bromwich Albion and is known to have a £2million buyout clause which he signed in February. 40-year-old former assistant to Marcelo Bielsa on Elland Road.

However, it remains to be seen whether he is a big enough personality to galvanize Leeds after their relegation. Gerrard, who was sacked by Aston Villa last October, is interested in this and is also on the list being considered by Kinnear, who will retain his role even if the takeover goes ahead.

Parker has been sacked. Bournemouth early in the campaign after publicly stating his concerns that the team was not strong enough to survive in the Premier League. Since then, Gary O'Neal has taken them to safety, but the January transfer window saw a lot of money gobbled up and spent as well.

A huge plus for Parker is that in his two seasons in the Championship he has been promoted on both occasions, with Fulham in 2020 and last year with Bournemouth. Like Gerrard, he is also readily available.

However, Leeds intends to conduct a thorough recruitment process and understandably has received a large number of inquiries from agents and managers interested in the job.
