At the first stage, a relatively inexpensive SUV will be offered exclusively with a 1.5-liter «aspirated», electrified options will follow later.
The world premiere of the new compact cross-country Honda Elevate took place in India — this country will become the debut market for the model, and production will also be launched there. However, the five-door will still not be a local exclusive: the SUV is officially declared global, although the list of countries where Indian-assembled cars will appear has not yet been announced. However, these will most likely be emerging markets.

The Elevate is based on a platform designated by Honda as the Global Small Car: on the same “trolley” are built, for example, the “global” HR-V crossover and the City family (sedan and hatchback). True, in the case of the new SUV, we are most likely talking about the simplest version. In terms of dimensions, Elevate is comparable to Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others like them: the length of the Honda SUV is 4312 mm, the width is 1790 mm, the height is 1650 mm, the wheelbase is 2650 mm. Passport ground clearance is an impressive 220 mm versus 190 mm for the current Indian Creta.Appearance turned out without frills. The crossover has a flat “nose” with a large octagonal grille, fog lights are placed in massive black cases, the headlights are covered by a chrome insert, and the taillights are united by a die (but it does not glow). This model has 17″ wheels.

Inside, there is a multimedia system touchscreen that rises above the front panel (expensive versions have a 10.25-inch tablet), and there is a 7-inch color display in the tidy. Honda Elevate is also promised six airbags, wireless charging for a smartphone, a sunroof, a rear-view camera and a Honda Sensing complex (adaptive cruise control, marking tracking systems and automatic headlight switching). Trunk volume — 458 liters.
The SUV will be offered with a petrol four-cylinder «aspirated» 1.5, which produces 121 hp and 145 Nm. The motor is combined with a six-speed “mechanics” or a CVT, the drive is exclusively front-wheel drive. At the same time, over the next three years, Honda intends to electrify the Elevate, with hybrid and possibly purely “green” versions on the way.
In India, orders will begin to be accepted in July, and prices should be announced at the same time. By the way, Honda Elevate will be the first of five brand new SUV brands for the Indian market: the rest of the crosses will be gradually launched over the course of seven years.
