There are few new things, but in general they did not make the Chinese “four-door” more expensive.
The current Geely Emgrand sedan on the BMA platform debuted in China in 2021, the manufacturer himself considers it the fourth generation (in Russia, the previous cars were sold under the names EC7 and Emgrand 7). The company redesigned the previous “four-door” at home almost every year, but the design of the current Emgrand, apparently, suits everyone (the car really turned out to be successful), so restyling is not yet allowed for it. However, some new Geely Emgrand items were nevertheless sent: the upgraded sedan is presented as the Champion Edition, but this is not a special version at all, but rather the designation of the next model year.

The main thing is that Emgrand got a different engine, the “atmospheric” 1.5 with the factory index JLC-4G15B was replaced by a four-cylinder naturally aspirated BHE15-AFD engine of the same volume. The new engine produces 126 hp. and 152 Nm, while the output of the predecessor is 114 hp. and 147 Nm. The boxes are the same: the cheapest sedan is equipped with a five-speed «mechanics», the other versions are equipped with a CVT. By the way, it is announced that the new engine is more economical: the average fuel consumption is 5.6 or 5.8 l/100 km (depending on the box; according to the WLTC cycle) versus 6.2-6.5 l/100 km for a sedan with JLC-4G15B engine.

Also for Geely Emgrand a new body color (gray-blue) is provided. In addition, the multimedia system was replaced (it is already “in the base”): the screen is now 12.3 inches (there was a 10.25-inch touchscreen), the multimedia itself has become faster. The list of standard equipment also includes leather upholstery, digital instruments (they are also drawn on the 12.3-inch display) and a rear-view camera. The top-of-the-range sedan gets a full virtual dash (10.25 inches), side airbags, all-round cameras and cruise control.
1/2 2/2 Emgrand are asking around $9,800 — $12,400. Note that in China, the model also has a hybrid version with an installation based on the 1.8 engine, but it will be upgraded later.
Meanwhile, the current generation Geely Emgrand is also sold in other countries, the sedan is presented, including including on the Belarusian market. However, the company has not yet officially announced the return of the “four-door” to Russia.
