At the end of last month, the Japanese company distributed the first official teasers of the upcoming serial crossover. Using them, as well as the available spy photos, we decided to imagine what the car would look like.
The name of the model has not yet been officially announced, the company calls it Compact SUV. It is likely that the new SUV will become the successor to the very popular ASX compact crossover in Russia, which has been produced in a single generation since 2010 with several restylings (not counting the crossover for Europe presented at the beginning of this year, which is essentially a clone of Renault Captur).

Judging by the spy photos and teaser of the front, the novelty is a serial version of the Mitsubishi XFC concept, demonstrated in October last year. The crossover will receive almost the same body with some differences in details. So, there will be slightly modified headlights, a radiator grille and a bumper with an additional air duct. The crossover will get rid of the decorative elements on the front fenders and get classic door handles and exterior mirrors. As for the rear, the rear bumper and lights will also be slightly changed here, and a windshield wiper will be installed on the rear window. Considering the design of the roof, the car will most likely get the option of a two-tone body paint — we have presented one of the options with a bright red color available for the first generation ASX.

There have been no images of the interior yet, with the exception of teasers that show the speakers of the Yamaha audio system. There is also no confirmed information about the technical part, but it is expected that the crossover will receive a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine. It is also likely that hybrid modifications will appear. By the way, the previous ASX was offered in Russia only with «aspirated» — 1.6 (117 hp) or 2.0 (150 hp), and the second option was equipped with all-wheel drive.
