The four-door has been tweaked on the exterior, but the Sentra hasn't changed inside. The engine is the same.
This Nissan golf-class sedan has been in its current generation since 2019: in China, the model is called the Sylphy, and in other countries it is known as the Sentra. The «Celestial» version survived the planned restyling at the beginning of this year, but now it's the turn of the modernized «four-door» for North America. By the way, if in the Celestial Empire the sedan continues to be one of the most popular models of the entire market as a whole, ahead of direct competitors (although two generations are sold there at the same time), then in the States the Sentra is noticeably behind other cars in its segment. So, according to the results of the first quarter of 2023, 22,517 units (-17%) were sold there, while Toyota Corolla sold 42,975 copies (-9.5%) over the same period, the choice for Hyundai Elantra was stopped in January-March 32,473 buyers (+47%), the result of Kia Forte (aka Cerato) is 30,526 units (+30%).

Like the «celestial» model, Sentra has found a different grille and front bumper, black inserts appeared in the headlights. The sedan also got wheels of a new design. The American division of Nissan has so far distributed branded photos of only the top “sported” version of the SR, such a Sentra has black “strokes” on the grille, standard diode head optics (other versions have halogens), nameplates with the name of the configuration in front and behind, 18-inch wheels ( 16″ or 17″ in entry and mid range), plus a retouched rear bumper.

The interior of the Nissan Sentra was practically not affected by the reforms. The base sedan still has a 4.2-inch screen in the dash and a multimedia system with a 7-inch tablet rising above the front panel. Other trim levels have a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster (but the scales themselves are still analog) and multimedia with an 8-inch screen. Note that all versions of the Chinese restyled Nissan Sylphy sedan, with the exception of the “base”, are equipped with a 12.3-inch display, although virtual instruments are not provided in China even for a surcharge.
In the list of functional equipment of the Center there are no new things at all, except that the heating of the front seats has become standard for the top-end “four-door” SR (it is not allowed for the cheapest modification, for the middle one it is an option). As before, all versions have a rear-view camera, auto-brake systems, blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning. Starting with the second most senior configuration, adaptive cruise control appears instead of the usual one. Nissan Sentra SR is also dual-zone climate control instead of air conditioning. For a surcharge, it will be possible to order all-round cameras and an electric sunroof.

The engine is the same. In the US, the sedan is available with aspirated MR20DD 2.0 petrol with 151 hp. The motor is combined with an improved Xtronic CVT: in particular, a smoother gear shift is promised. In China, Sylphy is presented with a naturally aspirated HR16 1.6 engine (135 hp) and CVT, in addition, there the model has a hybrid version (it has its own design) with an e-Power installation, which includes a 1.2 gasoline engine (works exclusively in generator) and an electric motor with a return of 136 hp. It's front-wheel drive anyway.

The refreshed Sentra will hit US dealers this fall, pricing yet to be announced. The pre-reform «four-door» now costs from $20,050 (excluding taxes and shipping).
