Like the hatch, the four-door is available with an electric-style front end or a more familiar grille. There are fewer new things inside, the technology is the same.
In Japan and Europe, the Mazda2 hatchback of the current generation, which survived the second restyling, started at the beginning of this year. Now, such a model is entering the Southeast Asian market, and along with the five-door, they also sell a four-door version: the updated family is presented today, June 21, in Thailand. We have already talked about the hatch, so we will not dwell on it in detail, we only note that it has been updated in general in the same way as the Japanese and old-world cars. But let's pay attention to the sedan, because the restyled four-door, in fact, celebrated the world premiere. Well, we recall that locally produced cars are available in Thailand.

Like the five-door, the sedan now has two front end designs, and Mazda's Thai division has even come up with names for them. So, cars with a plug “for electric cars” (a small slot was left on top, and the grille itself is located in the bumper) is New Wave Design; «twos» with the usual grille (but it is new) — this is Sport Design. The front bumper was also replaced, plus discs of a different design appeared, the palette of body colors was expanded. In addition, the Thai hatchback has special versions of Rookie Drive Sports and Clap Pop Sports with colored decorative inserts and stickers, but the four-door did not get these.

After restyling, the length of the Mazda2 sedan increased by 15 mm to 4355 mm, the width and height are the same — 1695 and 1470 mm, respectively. The wheelbase has not changed either — 2570 mm. That is, in terms of its dimensions, the sedan is close to our deceased Hyundai Solaris.
In the cabin, only finishing materials have become different. Among the available equipment — a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen, climate control, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, tracking systems for markings and monitoring blind spots.

Former engines: in Thailand, the sedan and hatch are equipped with a Skyactiv-G 1.3 petrol four-cylinder aspirator (93 hp) or a Skyactiv-D 1.5 turbodiesel (105 hp). Both engines are equipped with a six-speed automatic, the drive is exclusively front-wheel drive, while in Japan the five-door has all-wheel drive versions (the model has its own engine range in the brand's homeland).
For a restyled Mazda2 sedan, they ask for $ 17,200 — $ 23,800 (the hatchback costs the same, not counting special versions). The main local competitor in the face of Nissan Almera will cost less (15,800 — 20,000 dollars), but Almera has only one engine — a 1.0 petrol turbo with a capacity of 100 hp.
The four-door Mazda2 is also sold in countries in Latin America, probably there will also be an updated model soon.
