Fans who bought the jersey noticed that only 32 of the 38 matches of the 2003/04 season were shown
Arsenal have suspended the sale of their new home jersey worth £110 due to a design error by the kit makers.
A genuine version of the club's new home kit is temporarily unavailable for purchase after Adidas acknowledged that a mistake was made in its production.
Arsenal's results from the unbeaten 2003/04 season are printed on the seams of the shirt, but fans have noticed that only 32 of the 38 league results were included.
Adidas is now offering a full refund to fans who have already purchased a jersey and has apologized to both the club and Arsenal fans.
In the first few days of sales, the new home shirt became the best-selling shirt in Arsenal's history. The «non-authentic» version, which costs £80, was unaffected by the issue as it does not feature results from the 20-year-old Invincibles season.
Adidas said in a statement: «Arsenal 2023-24 Home Authentic Jerseys are temporarily unavailable while the design bug is corrected.
«We are working closely with the club and our partners to ensure the new jerseys are available. as soon as possible and are offering a full refund to fans who have already purchased shirts.
“This design error does not meet the standards we set for ourselves as a brand and we apologize to the club and its fans. A replica of the 'fan' version of the home jersey has not been affected and is now widely available.»
The 'real' version of the jersey is the same version worn by first team players during matches and is the kit that Arsenal beat Wolves 5-0 on the last day of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Arsenal's partnership with Adidas began at the start of the 2019/20 season. and was extended until 2030 last year.
