Scottish Tory leadership hopes to be sacked for calling himself a 'poster boy'

Douglas Ross has sacked his Justice Representative in Holyrood for his outspoken support for Nicola Sturgeon's gender reforms.

The Scottish Conservative leader on Wednesday announced a reshuffle that saw Jamie Greene sacked from his front desk. the team with Stephen Kerr, a former MP, is also losing its role as a representative of education.

Senior party sources claimed that Mr. Green upset Mr. Ross because of his support for the SNP's gender identity. law, even though the MSP Conservatives were officially granted a free vote on the bill.

Mr Ross's allies said unlike health spokesman Sandesh Gulhane, another MP candidate who voted in favor of gender law, Mr. Green has allowed himself to be the «poster boy» for the SNP government on this issue.

Mr Green delivered an impassioned speech at the Holyrood debate in support of the gender bill in December and suggested that his party was on the wrong side of history.

An openly gay MP later criticized the UK government's decision to veto the a law that would allow Scots aged 16 and over to change their legal gender by signing a declaration.

Mr Kerr, meanwhile, is believed to have left his education on friendly terms after he was chosen to run for the newly created Westminster office of Angus and the Perthshire Glens.

In a statement, Mr Green said he was «disappointed» at losing his job as a spokesman for justice and, apparently criticizing Mr Ross, said politicians should be able to find a way to «respectfully disagreement» when consensus is not possible.

Just last year, Mr Green was chosen to answer the First Minister's questions when Mr Ross fell ill and is known to have ambitions to one day lead the Scottish Party.

«In the real world, people don't always agree on everyone, and they should not be expected to do so in politics,” Mr. Green said. “Politics is at the heart of the very process of resolving such disagreements. This process is characteristic of a healthy democracy, but this character is sorely lacking in Scottish politics.”

He added: “Differences between and within political parties are normal. At least that's how it should be.

“I take great pride in standing up uncompromisingly for what I believe is right. That's why I got into politics in the first place.”

Mr Green was replaced in the justice brief by Russell Findlay, a former crime journalist who survived an acid attack by Glasgow gangs for his reporting on their activities.

Mr. Ross thanked Mr. Green and Mr. Kerr for their «impeccable work». He added: «This is a pivotal moment in Scottish politics and I am convinced that this new line-up will expose Humza Yousaf's hopelessly divided and scattered SNP government.» on the real priorities of the people, while the nationalists redouble their obsession with independence to divert attention from their terrible track record and internal scandals.

Meanwhile, Stuart Hosey, the former deputy leader of the SNP, became the fifth nationalist MP , announce that he will not run in the next general election, and polls show that his party could lose several seats to Labour.
