The American brand's electrical novelty is produced at the facilities of the Gigafactory, which is located in Austin, Texas.
Tesla unveiled the first Cybertruck prototype in November 2019. Then it was assumed that the production of an electric pickup truck would begin at the end of 2021, but in the end there was a series of postponements of the production start date. The fact that the installation of equipment began at the Gigafactory in Texas became known last fall. And now Tesla has announced that the first production Cybertruck has been released.

The message about the start of production of the Tesla Cybertruck appeared on social networks, here the company published a picture of the Gigafactory employees with the first serial pickup truck (on the preview). The photo was taken in such a way that the exterior of the novelty was not completely captured in the frame: only a large sloping windshield with a large wiper, a part of the profile with traditional side mirrors, a glass roof and a cargo compartment are visible. Obviously, the commercial version will not differ much from the pre-production prototype presented in January last year. >It is worth noting that pickup trucks remain the most popular vehicles in the United States. A number of brands have already launched their «electric trucks» on the market, the list includes Ford, Rivian, GMC, Chevrolet. Recall that last spring, the head of Tesla Elon Musk noted that the annual sales of Cybertruck will be from 250 to 500 thousand copies (after the production of pickups reaches full capacity).
One of the main features of the Tesla Cybertruck is the thick, high-strength stainless steel from which the body is made. In addition, armored glass was promised to the pickup truck. Also, as Kolesa.ru reported earlier, Cybertruck is amphibious: the electric car will be able to cross rivers, lakes and sea straits in calm water. At the same time, the wheels probably play the role of propellers, so the speed of movement through the water is low.
Earlier, the technical characteristics of the pickup truck disappeared from the Tesla official website: obviously, they will undergo changes. Recall that in 2019 it was reported that the top version of the Cybertruck will receive a three-engine power plant. It was expected that such a pickup truck could accelerate from standstill to almost “hundreds” (up to 96.6 km/h) in 2.9 seconds, and its estimated range on a single charge exceeded 800 km.

The first customers will receive their Tesla copies, according to Tesla CEO Cybertruck towards the end of Q3, probably September 2023. At the same time, mass production of pickups at the Gigafactory in Texas will start in 2024, and until then the production of “electric trucks” will be limited. It should be noted that as of November last year, the number of pre-orders for Cybertruck exceeded 1.6 million.
In May, the American manufacturer confirmed that in the coming years the brand line will be replenished due to several new products. It is known that the Tesla Model 2 compact crossover will play the role of one of them, however, there is still little official information about it. However, there is already a render that suggests what this SUV with a range of up to 500 km on a single charge can turn out to be. According to the plan, the novelty should enter the market in 2025.
