Mercedes-AMG is preparing a “charged” CLE 63 coupe: the first image

According to preliminary data, the «hot» two-door of the German brand will debut in the second half of next year.

Mercedes-Benz showed the new CLE coupe and convertible quite recently, at the beginning of this month. These two-doors have replaced the corresponding modifications in the C-class and E-class families. Recall, judging by the appearance, CLE is closer to the “tseshka”, the salon also moved from the same model, while the dimensions of the novelty turned out to be larger than the coupe of the C-Class and E-Class families (length — 4850 mm, width — 1860 mm, height — 1428 mm; distance between the axles — 2865 mm).

The new CLE coupe will have a «charged» version, which is currently being developed by Mercedes-AMG. Previously disguised prototypes of the corresponding novelty have already fallen into the lenses of photo spies. However, there is no official information about the appearance of this “hot” two-door yet.

Judging by the render, the novelty will receive a recognizable branded large Panamericana radiator grille with a pattern in the form of chrome vertical stripes and a large logo in the form of a three-pointed star. It is expected that the profile of the «charged» Mercedes-AMG CLE coupe will be decorated with new light-alloy wheels of the original design and larger. Most likely, ceramic brakes will be available as an option. Based on the spy shots of the prototypes, the hot two-door novelty will get four square exhaust pipes (two on each side) integrated into the lower part of the rear bumper.

It is assumed that the interior of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 Coupé SE Performance will be approximately the same as that of the “heated” Mercedes-AMG C 43 and C 63, that is, it will receive AMG graphics, matching decor and sports front bucket seats. However, the rear sofa of the coupe will only be designed for two.

The new two-door developed by Mercedes-AMG is likely to be a plug-in hybrid. It is assumed that the model will share the equipment with the «charged» sedan and station wagon C 63 S E Performance. We are talking about a power plant, which is based on a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder engine, its output is 476 hp. It works in tandem with a 204-horsepower electric motor located on the rear axle. Paired with a nine-speed automatic. The total output of this system is 680 hp. This installation also includes a battery with a capacity of 6.1 kWh, the range when driving on electric power alone does not exceed 13 km.

Recall that according to the plan, the standard Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe should appear on the European market this autumn. According to preliminary data, the «hottest» version of this two-door will debut in the second half of 2024.
