The South Korean automaker plans to restyle and equip this model with its second-generation PHEV system. This cutting-edge technology will allow the vehicle to travel up to 100 km purely on electric power after a full charge.
According to SPEEDME.RU, Hyundai Motor Group has shared its plans to develop the next generation of PHEV system with several partners. Development is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year, and the new system is expected to make its debut in the facelifted Grandeur in 2025. Several partners are already involved in the development of appropriate components for this innovative PHEV system. In addition to the Grandeur, this new technology will also appear in the next-generation Sorento and facelifted Santa Fe in 2025 and 2026 respectively.
The initial development of the Grandeur PHEV includes work on the second-generation system, which is in the early stages of development. However, it is already known that it significantly outperforms the current Hyundai Motor Group PHEV system in terms of energy performance and economy.
