The electric SUV is offered in two trim levels, but you won’t be able to choose either the motor or the battery. For now, the cross is presented only on the domestic market, but soon the model will reach other countries.
The premiere of the Torres EVX crossover, that is, the electric version of the “hydrocarbon” Torres, was held by KG Mobility (ex-SsangYong) back in March, and at the same time they opened pre-orders in Korea. And now “live” sales will start in the manufacturer’s homeland. By the way, the range of the former SsangYong already includes an electric car – the Korando e-Motion SUV, it is also made on the basis of the “traditional” model. However, the “green” Korando is now presented only in foreign markets: as local specialized media write, the company is experiencing problems with the supply of batteries, so it was decided to export all produced cars. But let's get back to the new product.

KG Mobility Torres EVX has its own design. Thus, the electric cross received a two-story head optics: on top there are narrow LED strips of running lights (they also play the role of turn signals), which, in addition, are interconnected by luminous “strokes”; Below are the main headlight blocks. In addition, Torres EVX received different bumpers, and in place of the radiator grille there is a rather massive plug.
< p>The length of the electric car is 4715 mm, which is 15 mm longer than its gasoline brother. The height is increased by the same 15 mm to 1735 mm. The width and wheelbase of the cars are the same — 1890 and 2680 mm, respectively. The trunk volume of the Torres EVX is 839 liters under the ceiling versus 703 liters for the “traditional” Torres.
The interior has been redesigned even more than the exterior. A scoreboard was installed inside the electric crossover (combined screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, each 12.3 inches diagonal), while the model with an internal combustion engine has separate displays. The electric car also lacks a touch-sensitive climate control unit — all settings are built into the central touchscreen. The transmission selector is located on the “floating” armrest.

KG Mobility Torres EVX is offered with a single 207-horsepower electric motor, which is located on the front axle (the gasoline crossover is available with all-wheel drive). There is also one battery — lithium iron phosphate with a capacity of 73.4 kWh, supplied by the Chinese company BYD. Claimed range – 433 km.
Two configurations are available to choose from. Already in the initial version of the E5 there are 18-inch wheels, LED optics, dual-zone climate control, the aforementioned display, heated steering wheel and front seats (seats are also ventilated), eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, auto-braking systems, hold-in lane and blind spot monitoring. The E7 version additionally has leather upholstery and heated rear seats.

The price of Torres EVX is from 47,500,000 won (hereinafter prices are indicated taking into account benefits), which is equivalent to approximately 3,440,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. The Kia Niro EV electric SUV costs more, although it is more compact than Torres: from 48,550,000 won (about 3,516,000 rubles). But the Kia-related crossover Hyundai Kona Electric in the base costs almost the same as they ask for the KG Mobility model. Well, let’s give the price of a gasoline Torres — from 27,970,000 won (2,026,000 rubles).
Later, KG Mobility Torres EVX will be sent to foreign markets.
