The Toyota RAV4 crossover has been in the current fifth generation since 2018; it underwent a more or less serious modernization at the end of 2021. In the States, its main market, SUVs went into the red this year: in January-June, 187,017 cars were sold (-7%). And yet, Toyota has not yet decided to make significant improvements; the crossover intended for America has only been slightly refreshed, and, in fact, only in one version — the “off-road” Woodland Edition (it is depicted in all company photos).

Let us remember that such a “severe” version of the American RAV4 appeared last year; it is offered exclusively for the hybrid crossover. The main technical feature of the Woodland Edition is the retuned suspension, which was modified by Toyota's TRD (Toyota Racing Development) division. The special version also has black nameplates and similar-colored trim on the exhaust pipes, roof rails with crossbars, “bronze” 18-inch wheels, Falken Wildpeak A/T off-road tires, mud flaps and original all-weather floor mats in the cabin.

In the new model year, a special mount appeared in the rear bumper of the Toyota RAV4 Woodland Edition — for example, you can fix a rack for transporting bicycles. In addition, an optional Weather Package was added, which included heated front seats and a leather steering wheel, a rain sensor, and windshield wipers with anti-icing function.

Finally, the RAV4 Woodland Edition now offers two-tone paint: the body can be finished in a new dark green shade or white, with a black roof in both cases. By the way, this green color has also been added to the palette of the Adventure and TRD Off-Road versions (they are also “off-road”). Here, in fact, are all the updates for the 2024 model year.

The technique is the same. The Woodland Edition modification has a THS II hybrid installation with a naturally aspirated 2.5 petrol (206 hp) and an electromechanical CVT, plus all hybrid Rafiks in the States are all-wheel drive by default, that is, an additional electric motor is installed on the rear axle. Total output – 222 hp. The “traditional” crossover is equipped with the same 2.5 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Well, the top cross is the rechargeable hybrid Toyota RAV4 Prime, it also has an installation based on a 2.5 engine, the total power is 306 hp.
In the American market, sales of the RAV4 of the new model year will start in soon. The petrol crossover starts at $28,475, while the hybrid starts at $31,475. For the Woodland Edition you will need to pay a minimum of $34,695. All prices do not include taxes and delivery.
