Ford is preparing a restyled version of its compact crossover. Using the available information, we decided to imagine what the new product will look like.
The Puma subcompact crossover, based on the Fiesta, appeared in 2019. It takes on the name previously used by a small coupe produced from 1997 to 2002. Recently, fresh spy photos of the restyled version were published on the Internet, which became the reason for us to make renderings of the new product.
Render of the electric Puma < p>The bodies of the test samples are still hidden under camouflage film, but we can assume that the crossover will receive a new front end. Our renderings show the electric version of the Puma, which was announced last year. Judging by the only available teaser, there will be new head optics with original graphics for daytime LED lights, which will receive three vertical lines in each headlight. There will also be a new front bumper, and a distinctive feature of the electric modification will probably be a decorative insert in body color instead of the radiator grille. The samples captured by photo spies are still visually no different from the current model, but we have depicted a variant with new lights made in the style of front optics and a new rear bumper. The image is complemented by original rims.

As already mentioned, the Puma crossover is built on the seventh-generation Ford Fiesta platform (by the way, production of the Fiesta was discontinued this year). Initially, the model was offered exclusively with a petrol 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with a power of 125 or 155 hp, equipped with a system for deactivating one cylinder at partial loads. A little later, a diesel version was added, and then a charged ST version. All crossovers are equipped with front-wheel drive. As for the future electric version, according to preliminary data, it will also be exclusively front-wheel drive, and the electric motors will develop 130 or 150 hp. depending on modification.
