Chery launched the youth brand Jetour in China in 2018, its first model was the still existing mid-size crossover X70 — a technical relative of the well-known Chery Tiggo 8 in Russia. Time will tell how successful the Jetour X70 Plus’s career will be in Russia. In China, the X70 in all its varieties is now the most popular Jetour model, but its sales are falling: from January to August this year, according to CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), 59,268 units were sold, 15.6% less than in the same period in 2022. The Jetour Dashing crossover sold 23,711 units in China in the first eight months of this year; the Jetour X90 sold 15,888 units. And in China, the Jetour Traveler crossover has just gone on sale, comparable in size to the X70 Plus, but with an angular SUV-style design — its entry into the Russian market is expected in the first quarter of 2024.
